I pulled a couple of these images out earlier to blog, but am just now getting around to completing the creative process. Partly because family members get pushed to the end of the queue frequently and partly because I was wondering how to edit them for use in 15-20 years. The idea of photographing a dress-up day in mom’s wedding gown is such a fun and fantastic one! The goal is to have one or more of the images on display at the daughter’s future wedding. But what will photography be like in the future? There are definite editing trends (I’m afraid we all remember and cringe at the thought of selective desaturation) so what will last through the years and still be a beautiful photograph? If I had my choice I’d probably convert 99% of my work to black & white – it’s just timeless and emotive. However, I did leave most of these in color and edited them very conservatively. Hope you – and especially Mom – will enjoy the results.

I’m seriously thinking this would make some fun mini-sessions in July when it’s too hot to go outside. Let me know what you think. Is that something you’d like to capture for your daughter?

I hope to have the younger daughter’s completed by the end of the week, but it’s headed to the back of the line again as I make some changes on a wedding album and complete designs on some newborn image boxes and announcements!
