Montgomery AL Bridal Portraits: Presenting Mrs. Abigail Mitchell

It has been so difficult to keep this bridal portrait under wraps until Abigail Schmidt became Abigail Mitchell in a beautiful celebration yesterday in Wetumpka. The wedding blog will follow later, but here is her official bridal portrait, which was displayed in a magnificent 24×30 enlargement at the reception.

These were taken at the Blount Conservatory in Montgomery, AL, which also served as the reception venue. Here are a few of my favorites from the session:

What an honor to be a part of this special time in Abigail’s life!! And she even texted me a “thank you” message this morning!! How amazing is that!?!

It was a beautiful day on Lake Jordan and each detail had been meticulously planned for this special celebration. Antiques and mementos filled every tables. The bride carried a bride’s basket dating from the 1800′s. Her bridesmaids each received and carried a different silver basket of flowers lovingly arranged by her father. The bridesmaids were beautiful and attentive. The groomsmen were fun and cooperative. Kim and Isaac will be able to hold so many special memories of this very important day in their life together. And I am so honored to have been a part of this amazing wedding. Here’s just a small preview of their gallery of images.

Coffee Break

I love taking afternoon coffee breaks in my backyard. There are countless good memories stored here. The little house is a playhouse my daddy built for me. Now the grandchildren enjoy it. A myriad of precious pets have walked these grounds. My wonderful children have played and grown up here. Numerous meaningful conversations with God took place here. Many dreams have been formed here. I should really set aside the time to do this every day.

A Brief Intermission

I’m totally overwhelmed and stressed over the number of family photos that are sitting in folders on my computer unedited. So, why not pull out one of my cat and work on it? My 16-year old rescue, RAM, in his favoite spot.

For anyone interested, I used two textures from Florabella and one from Kaleidoscope Light Overlays. Canon 5D Mark II, EF50mm f/1.4 USM, 1/125 sec at f/1.6 ISO 125, off-camera flash.

When I received an email that this handsome fella would be sporting red converse shoes for his 4th birthday session I immediately knew what I wanted to capture. I just love these images! And here are a few of mom’s favorites:

Yes, being a typical 4-year old it took a little bribery to get what we wanted! A few tasty Cheezits did the trick!

Mom also shared that he would have a pirate theme for his birthday party, so we pulled out the treasure chests and ended the session on a very happy note!

There are few sessions I get more excited about than when I’m invited to photograph on family land. What a treasure to have and enjoy! However, I never expected it to be so beautiful – so full of fresh spring wildflowers and the perfect sunset. And what better setting to capture engagement images to enjoy and share. Add to that amazing setting a wonderful couple who had as much fun as I did recording their love for each other and their excitement about their upcoming wedding. It is with great pleasure that I share a few of my favorites with them here.
